Dear Neighbor-

Vermont’s future depends on stable communities: places where strong public schools prepare our youth for the future and where jobs pay livable wages so that the average Vermonter can afford a home and support their local businesses.

Vermont faces difficult choices ahead, especially as the national economy worsens. Our roads are crumbling, fuel costs are skyrocketing, and healthcare and housing are increasingly out of reach for the common Vermonter.

Now, more than ever, our state government should be protecting the interests of working families. We need more independent voices in Montpelier to make sure that our priorities are represented.

In the coming months, I will work to earn your support in the November election. I look forward to meeting and speaking with you as I campaign to become your State Representative in Montpelier.

Sincerely,

Cindy will fight for:

A Universal Health Care system that covers all Vermonters. Only by covering everyone and eliminating the waste in our current patchwork system can we begin to control skyrocketing healthcare costs.

Fair education funding based on ability to pay not on property taxes. We should help school boards address the costs that drive up their budget and not insult local boards and voters with two-vote schemes.

Investments in Infrastructure and the Rural Economy. The longer we put off fixing our crumbling roads and bridges, the more it will cost. Investing now will put people to work, improve safety, and save money in the long run. State government should support local farmers and small businesses: employers who do not send our jobs overseas. Investments in broadband technology will encourage start-up businesses in our community and help them compete in the global marketplace.

Reliable, safe energy. We cannot afford to rely on nuclear power or foreign oil into the future but need to invest in efficiency and develop small-scale in-state power sources.

"We have known Cindy Weed for over 30 years and in that time she has often impressed us with her work ethic, her commitment to family, her integrity and not least, her healthy supply of common sense. We believe Cindy would be a wonderful voice for our area, with her sense of fair play and reasonableness. We would be proud to have her as our representative in Montpelier."
