Vermont AFL-CIO Endorses Progressive Slate of Candidates

Friends -

On this labor day we are incredibly proud that the Vermont AFL-CIO has endorsed our full slate of Progressive and Progressive/Democratic candidates for Vermont House and Senate. These candidates include:

David Zuckerman - Governor
Dylan Stetson - Caledonia-1,
Emma Mulvaney-Stanak - Chittenden 6-2
Brian Cina - Chittenden-6-4
Selene Colburn - Chittenden-6-4
Taylor Small - Chittenden-6-7
Tanya Vyhovsky - Chittenden 8-1
Dennis Williams - Franklin-7
Susan Hatch-Davis - Orange-1
Robin Chesnut-Tangerman - Rutland-Bennington
Glennie Swell - Washington-4
Mollie Burke - Windham 2-2
Heather Surprenant - Windsor 4-1
Chris Pearson - Chittenden Senate
Luke Richter - Franklin Senate
Chole Collins - Franklin Senate
Anthony Pollina - Washington Senate

Additionally, the AFL-CIO endorsed a few Democrat and Democrat/Progressive candidates. The D/P candidates they endorsed include:

Doug Hoffer - Auditor
Emilie Kornheiser - Windham 2-1
Mari Cordes - Addison 4
Andrew Perchlik - Washington Senate

When elected, these candidates will be ready to fight for a working class agenda - things like real living wages, universal health care, union card check, paid family leave, and a society that meets all the needs of working people.

The decision by the Vermont AFL-CIO to place a moratorium on endorsing Democratic candidates was made after the failure of Democratic leadership to advance key labor priorities this legislative session. Their executive committee then voted to endorse the full slate of Progressive and Progressive/Democratic candidates. A few exceptions were made to the moratorium in support of individual Democratic legislators who are union members or have proven track records of supporting Vermont labor.

We are incredibly proud to have such strong support from the 11,000 members of the Vermont AFL-CIO, and look forward to continue working to advance a pro union agenda across Vermont.

Please enjoy your labor day and remember that working class people and their unions are responsible for many of the benefits both union and non union workers enjoy today.

In solidarity,

Josh Wronski
