ELECTED PROGRESSIVES

For over 40 years, an unbroken stream of Progressives have served on the Burlington City Council and Vermont Legislature. These range from Progressive-endorsed independents, like Sen. Bernie Sanders, to fusion candidates endorsed by the Progressive Party and Democratic Party. Fusion candidates run as either P/Ds or D/Ps, indicating which party they caucus with. Today, over 45 towns are represented by Progressives at either the state or local level — with more opportunties to win new towns.
