    Megan Polyte has been involved with the Vermont Progressive Party for almost three decades. During that time, she has led statewide campaigns for Anthony Pollina, Dean Corren and David Zuckerman as well as supported many Progressive House and Senate candidates. She has served on State, County and Town committees in leadership capacities.

    Before joining the VPP as Executive Director, Meg was the Policy Director for the Vermont Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association where she engaged advocates and legislative leaders around policy in support of Vermont’s large aging population, particularly those with dementia and their caregivers.

    She has deep knowledge of Vermont and extensive connections with advocacy and issue organizations and elected leaders from around the state.

    Meg has a BS in Leadership and Management and a MA in Education, both from St. Michael’s College.

    She lives in Burlington with her father, Millie the cat, and often one or both of her adult kids.

    Heather Thomas most recently served as Executive Director of the VPP.

    Over her career, she has worked in legal, financial, non-profit, and small business sectors, always bringing her values-driven, justice-oriented policy perspective.

    She serves as a Commissioner of the Vermont Commission on Women.

    Heather currently serves as Trustee and Treasurer of the Wells Village Library, as a member of the town Planning Commission, Rutland County Affiliate leader for NAMI Vermont, and as a member of the mutual aid organization spanning several towns in Southern Vermont.

    Over the last 15 years, she’s served on the boards of Solarfest, Pember Library & Museum, Stone Valley Arts, Slate Valley Museum, and the Haynes House of Hope.

    Heather has a B.A. in Political Science from St. Lawrence University.

    She lives in Southern Vermont with her daughter.
