There was a work session on Burlington’s "Future Land Use Map”. We discussed the need to ensure that our comprehensive plan, including planBTV, is compliant with new state rules.
The Council voted to approve a resolution honoring the life of Sandy Baird, who recently passed. Sandy lived in Ward 1 on Loomis St. and made immeasurable contributions to our community and the rest of Vermont since she came to Burlington in 1968.
There was 3 ordinances regarding stormwater standards in the South End Innovation District (SEID), Downtown Code Parking Setbacks, and impact fees.
The Council reviewed a proposal for the the City Attorney, in consultation with the Community Justice Center, to create a restorative justice program to address criminal ordinance violations in the city of Burlington. It’s called “City Circle” and will be another effective tool in our toolkit to address community safety issues.
